It seems my whole family and I AGREE! My mom made a cat toy of a Bush doll with a string around his neck! Obama’s great, but it makes me wince to think that he might not have made it, if we hadn’t had a) such a (dangerous) nit-wit president, and b) such a (laughably) nit-wit Republican V.P. nominee (IMHO, McCain isn’t half the nit-wit that Palin is!). I have high hopes for Obama, but I am a little scared for him, at what he’s getting himself in to!
Meg, what a great tribute page! But I hope you go on with your other stuff soon!
Ask not what the n00b can do for you, ask what you can do for the n00b.
That’s my motto this week, anyway. Note the lack of reference to Bush et al in the motto. That’s because I’m, like, so over those guys. Time to look towards the future and leave the snark and the cat toy effigies in the past. For me, this week is all about hope and change. Not to go all 80’s Patti LaBelle on your asses, but: I’ve tidied up my point of view, wwwwwhhhyI’ve got a new attituuuuuude!
The Boyfriend of the Week site will return to its regularly scheduled programming shortly, never fear.
You know what, Meg? You – as usual – have a good point! In my enthusiasm (and immaturity), I vented some opinions that really had no business being on this “blog.”
TO ALL AND SUNDRY: I apologize for letting myself sound so arrogant. I so value all you guys out there, and really enjoy sharing comments about movies, T.V. … and sometimes, even boyfriends! (LOL). I agree about the “new attitude” thing … although I don’t know much about Patti Labelle. I’ll TRY to be good!
I just have one more thing to say: “Snark, snark, snark – the boys are marching!” 🙂
Blade Runner, Trip? I thought surely if I dropped in LaBelle’s “New Attitude” someone would chime in with something like, “Disturbing the peace? I got thrown out of a window! What’s the charge for getting pushed out of a moving car, huh? Jaywalking?!” (That song’s from the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack, yo!)
Lizzie, it’s no big. I just know there are some Nobama people here too. Today should be about unification and moving forward together. Harder to do when we’re still picking on each other. 🙂
Not sure where to post this but the MacGyver poster seemed like a good bet. Richard Dean Anderson was on SNL this past Saturday. They have this running MacGruber bit and they got RDA to appear in a couple. Check it out! Unnfortuately, RDA was not looking his best but it was great to see him.
I personally think that Mr. President is totally boyfriend worthy. I would like to know his McGyver-ness. Or is that unAmerican of me?? I’m feeling patriotic.

Nicely written! I’m hopeful for a new national attitude of inclusion rather than exclusion, and open-mindedness rather than narrow-mindedness.

Believe me, I had a bunch of upbeat 80’s quotes ready to go, but after these last eight years, I still had some bleak dystopia left in me.
That said…you’re not gonna fall for the banana in the tailpipe?

“Look, man, I ain’t fallin’ for no banana in my tailpipe!”

Thanks, Meg. As a Nobama person, I thought is best to stay out of the line of fire. I appreciate your attitude and hope to move forward as well.
