TV Shows Back This Week, Plus Some BSG Talk Just Cuz

By megwood

Up this week for post-strike TV returns are:

Tuesday, April 8:
NCIS (CBS, 8pm, 7 episodes) — And I hope fans have noticed that USA has also been rerunning lots of the old episodes of NCIS lately (especially on Saturdays, when they frequently do 12 hour marathons).  It’s making me REALLY miss Kate, I must confess.  Ziva’s okay, but. . . meh.  Nevertheless, this show is having one of its best seasons so far this year, so tune in!

Thursday, April 10:
The Office (NBC, 9pm, 5-6 episodes)
ER (NBC, 10pm 6 episodes AND it was also renewed for next year — shoot me now!)

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk Battlestar Galactica

[SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T SEEN FRIDAY'S EPISODE]

First of all, I just don’t UNDERSTAND how Col. Tigh can be a cylon.  Wasn’t he pals with Adama back before the Cylons looked like humans?  So, how can he have “always” been a Cylon?  Are we supposed to think the “real” Tigh has been assassinated and replaced with a toaster that looks like him?  Maybe we are — after all, Starbuck herself suggested it might be one explanation for where SHE’S been for the last two months.

And, while I’m on the subject of Starbuck’s return, allow me to state firmly for the record that if STARBUCK is a Cylon, I will hunt down David Eick and Ronald Moore and boot them both in the shins.  HARD.

On the other hand, if ROSLYN is a cylon. . . Well, that would explain rather a lot, if you think back on things.  And not only would I believe quite easily that she’s a Cylon, but I’d also believe she’s been activated for a really long time.  Which could make for some very interesting possibilities, if you ask me.

Tigh, on the other hand:  I JUST DON’T GET IT!  I don’t get how the timeline works for that.

Anyone?  Anyone?

Ok, so this has absolutly nothing to do w/NCIS or BSG, I thought I would tell you that I saw The Ruins yesterday and it was bad, it was great either, but not bad….. It was nasty though and I haven’t read the book so I don’t know how true to the book the script was, but if the book was as discriptive as the movie showed I don’t think I’d be able to read the book anyway.

Well that was my speil. :) -

Those four, including Tigh, apparently are indeed Cylons, according to Ronald Moore himself, from this year-old article:

Hard to believe with Tigh, for sure. The Chief, at least makes some sense; it explains his affair with Boomer. Still both Chief and Tigh were major figures with the Resistance. Why did they take Tigh’s eye during interrogation? How is he an alcoholic?

I found this question the most intriguing…

“R: A friend of mine wonders about why even most of the Cylons don’t know the identities of the final five. She thinks it may have something to do with the humans who created the Cylons or perhaps even the God the Cylons worship.

RM: Those are pretty good possibilities.”

Except didn’t the CYLONS create the human-like Cylons? Or are we now to assume their God created the human-like Cylons?

The resistance thing I don’t have a problem with (nor Chief’s relationship with Boomer either) because all that stuff happened before they were activated. The problem I’m having is with the timeline for Tigh’s “creation.” Unless there have always been human-like Cylons, since the dawn of Cylons, then how do you explain him knowing Adama since before the first Cylon war? Unless he’s not really Tigh? Or unless you can take a human being and TURN it into a Cylon?

I have to confess I thought the episode last Friday was pretty disappointing. I’m worried the final season is going to suck major ass. And they have a LOT of explaining to do, which I hope they know! We’ll see!

p.s. Alisa, I read “The Ruins” and thought it was complete crap. I’m sure I’ll still end up renting the movie, though! That’s how dumb I am! :)
